The Art Explora European Award

ICOM Ireland’s members are invited to apply for a new award.

Art Explora is an endowment fund that has recently launched its European Award in collaboration with l’Académie des beaux-arts (Academy of Fine Arts), under the patronage of the French Ministry of Culture,

This award is open to all public or private European cultural institutions, of any size, that are fighting against cultural divisions to make art and culture accessible to all.

With a fund of €150,000 this award supports volunteer action aimed at fostering new encounters between artworks and a growing and diversifying public.

The purpose in creating this award is not only to provide support for the creation and development of new, innovative projects, but also to promote their diffusion to a wider public so that such cultural actions may be recognized and replicated.

Three prizes – 1st prize, 2nd prize, and 3rd prize will be awarded in order to bolster the development projects that aim to promote the diffusion of art and culture to wider and more diverse audiences.

In addition to these awards, the Gold Medal of the Fondation Art Explora will be presented during the ceremony at the Academy of Fine Arts to an individual that has worked for cultural democratization over the past year.

Deadline for applications is: 25 September 2020

Details on the Award and how to apply are available here.
